What is diablog?
What is diablog?
Diablog is a dialogue on a particular topic between me and a client, with a friend or even some aspect of myself, using creative non fiction. In other words diablogs emerge out of real issues and conversations but are not actual conversations, though they could be.
Dialogue is the original way we discover and learn. From Plato and Socrates to Shakespeare and every play or movie you’ve ever watched, or conversation you’ve overheard, dialogue is the oldest way to explore an idea through the eyes and ears of another.
- Diablog shows through interactive dialogue rather than tells like a lecture or fact sheet, which is more conducive to learning and change.
- Diablog is intended to engage your curious brain, to give you a different perspective, perhaps even surprise you, on a topic of interest.
- Diablog is based on i-brainmap the brain model I developed through my clinical work over the past ten years, with the book of the same name.
- Diablog uses creative non-fiction. Once I decide on a topic I use my imagination, drawing on more than twenty years clinical practice, I write down whatever emerges as a creative dialogue, a diablog.
What diablog is not
- Diablog is not an actual conversation that I’ve had with a client, and characters are not based on any particular client, but are a conglomeration of real issues that present in session.
- Diablog isn’t an answer to all your psychological questions.
- It is not a replacement for good therapy or counseling.
